At Can Do More Painting, we believe in a lump sum “all-in” pricing. This means that the price we quote for the specific scope is the price our client will pay – no more. We are able to offer this because we are professional painters that take the time to view each property personally prior to issuing the written quote. Even if we did miscalculate the time or product required for the scope of work, we will incur the cost and do not charge our client any extra at the end of the project. When a client adds to or changes the scope we will provide an updated written quote for the new work so, all costs are understood before new work commences. If we are unable to view the property ahead of time, we may bid off of photos, blue prints or basic floor plans. We will work with our clients to get the price as close as possible. In this case, any potential price variations are always discussed during the proposal process, we will never leave our clients with any costs that were not discussed thoroughly.

Having experienced contractors on the team allows us to scale up or down quickly depending on project demands. We have amazing independent contractors that we work with regularly and can call upon them as the need arises. The project is always led by us (Chad and Camille) and contractors do not get paid unless the quality is just right so, everyone has a vested interest to perform. We are always there for our client if they need anything!
TIME COMPLETION GUARANTEE
Client needs vary from project to project and at times they require a time completion guarantee. This could be the day before a projected moving day, family or company visit, planned trips away, or any other pending projects. Whatever the reason, we work with our clients to understand their project timeline needs. If a time completion guarantee is required we will not start the project unless we can meet the timelines agreed upon. At times, we are part of a larger renovation team and we are not able to start because of a delay with other trades. If we guarantee that our job will be a 3 day job and we are not able to start until the other trades are finished we will remain committed to our 3 day guarantee but the overall project finish date may be adjusted accordingly.
At times, a client may have requests that change the scope, either an increase or decrease that may affect the final completion date. We communicate daily with our clients regarding the project flow which allows our customers to plan accordingly.

At times there are more efficient ways to approach a project and we will offer our advice to clients in order to help them minimize cost and maximize time savings. If we feel a part of the project is not necessary we will inform our customers immediately.
For example, if something is in good condition, we will recommend an opportunity to save money. For instance, if a client is asking us to quote the walls of a property and the trim is in terrible condition we will recommend refreshing them as well. It is more cost effective to complete this while we are already on site and/or everything is moved out of the way. We are often asked to provide a consultation during many stages of a renovation. Examples of these stages would be: The information gathering stage, ready with blue prints. Demolition complete with all walls down to wooden studs. Currently lived in homes looking to be freshened up. In some cases a home or project may not be able or in a position to be viewed, we are able to work with photos and other elements such as floor plans to get the complete picture. Regardless of where our client is in the process, we will determine all the client’s needs during our consultation and develop a plan to keep the costs as low as possible.
Painting Process
Once we have defined scope we put together a comprehensive proposal. In detail the quote will outline the scope, describe the work from the preparation, to the painting process, the products that will be used, and our guaranteed price. We also send the client all of our important information such as our company overview so clients can get more familiar with us. In addition, we send copies of our city business license, our provincial prepaid contractor’s licence through the Alberta Government, and our business liability insurance that shows we carry $5 million in liability insurance. Finally we show proof that we are bonded and our current WCB insurance coverage. This gives our clients the confidence they deserve when choosing us for their painting project.
For an interior project we determine where our home base will be in the home during a quick property walk-through. This is where we store all of our equipment, products, and belongings. Home base is usually out of the way and placed on top of a drop sheet in a very orderly fashion. After a quick team meeting we get started. We usually start by diligently assessing the walls to find damage. This phase is the preparation portion of the project. On the first pass we spackle/mud all holes and dents using a handheld spotlight. After all the spackle is dried we sand all areas to a perfect smooth finish. Once complete we take a second pass with the spackle and repeat the sanding process. This ensures all imperfections are taken care of. We then remove all switch plates in the painting areas and do a complete site vacuum, once complete we are ready to start painting. At the end of each shift all tools and equipment are put away neatly, debris and dust are cleaned up.

Camille McPherson–
In 2004, Camille McPherson had the vision to start a painting company better than the rest. Camille figured that the only way to ensure everyone receives a high-quality paint job and is treated the way she desired them to be treated was to create her own Calgary and area painting company. That’s how Can Do More Painting was born. And Can Do More Painting really does DO more. When you hire us, the Can Do More Painting Team you will discover the difference for yourself. She will ensure you are treated like a friend. You will get amazing advice, a fair quote, and she makes sure Can Do More Painting provides the same care and attention to your property that she would want in her own home.
Over the years Camille has become a master painter, consultant, and project manager. One of the most notable projects Camille has led is a complex called Prospect Heights in Canmore, AB. On a complex estimated in value over $40 million dollars. The painting project extended over six years with the project value totaling over $250,000.00. In addition, Camille worked with property managers and board members to develop an annual maintenance program that is still in use today. The summer of 2009 was the first year on the project and Can Do More Painting has been completing the annual painting each consecutive year since. If safety, quality, and customer service are important to you then Camille is your choice to lead your painting project. Leadership is important on the site but this doesn’t mean she leads from afar. Daily she can be seen with the team holding a brush or up high on a ladder with a spray gun. If she is not painting then she can be seen performing a quality check on her staff or consulting with her clients (which happens to be one of her favorite things to do). Camille prides herself on being the standard of quality with the work completed and pays very close attention to her client’s needs and the overall safety around the painting site. She has adopted the nicknames of "Site Mom" and "Safety Officer" which she wears proudly.
Chad McPherson-
Chad McPherson works hand in hand with Camille to ensure that Can Do More Painting is recognized as the painting contractor of choice. Chad is usually on the project next to Camille but brings a technical project management background to operations which, ensures all aspects of project coordination and administration is carried out efficiently and effectively. Chad holds certifications in Project Management, Change Management, and Process Improvement, which provides our clients with peace of mind and comfort knowing that their projects will be completed correctly, efficiently, safely, and within budget. Additionally, Chad provides leadership with estimating, human resource management, logistics, quality assurance, safety, scheduling, and the formation of strategies that will mitigate risk to the project, ultimately resulting in a successfully completed project - a win-win situation for all stakeholders. Chad’s favorite part of the job is right with the mix with the team, either inside the home with a roller or high above the street in a man-lift. As a master painter with a desire to please his clients, there is no job on the site that Chad won’t do.
